You can't fool me!

No pictures, just a quick story about the boys. Today we went as a family to see the movie "Earth". It was interesting, but a little slow at times. The boys did okay during it, but wanted a little more action. It was gory at all, very well done! Anyway, the funny part - during the movie it shows the hunt for several kills (no blood, just chasing). The first one was a wolf and something that looked like a deer, we just said they were playing chase, okay! Next hunt later on in the movie was a cheetah and another deer like movie. Okay, a little more detailed this time. As the cheetah is gripping the animal in his mouth, I tell Carter, "They are just playing chase again. I think he tagged him." Carter looks up to me and says, "No, mommy he is eating him." And then proceeds to growl loud. Okay, maybe I don't need to sugar coat for you anymore. In one scene a huge shark jumps out of the water and eats a seal. Carter would be the only on in the theater that is standing up clapping loud saying, "Way to go Brucey" (the name of his stuffed shark at home). As we are leaving we ask the boys which animals they like the best in the movie. Benjamin answer: all the nice animals, Carter answer: shark and the lion, well that sums it up for us!

T-ball, Children's Museum, & Globetrotters

Ben started T-ball today. His team is called the Bees. (Wondering why is hat says NY - the Bees are a minor league team for the New York Mets, also why they are orange and blue instead of yellow like Bees) He was excited to find out he was #10 again! He did a great job hitting and catching. He was so excited, he woke up at 6:10 this moring and asked if he could put on his uniform. Luckily, he went back to sleep.

We went with friends to the Chicago Children's Museum on Thursday. The boys had a blast. There were so many activities for the kids to do. They loved the dinosaur room where they could dig for bones. The also had fun putting on raincoats and playing in the water room, I think they liked getting the parents wet the most. There was a little town where the kids were able to pretend play of pumping gas, driving or riding on a bus, cooking, grocery shopping, and building things - it was too cool. This was a great hands-on museum for the boys, they want to go back soon!

The Monday we got back for our quick Easter trip, we went to the Harlem Globetrotters' game. I had never been, they are quite entertaining. The boys enjoyed the game, they also loved being in arena where the Bulls play.

Easter Egg Hunting

Easter egg hunt in Quail Park with friends at Mum's house.

Aunt T brought mask to play with, Carter loved the Batman mask. I know this looks like Carter is elbowing Jackson, but I don't think anyone was hurt making this shot!

Easter in Texas

Our sweet family on Easter morning before church. I always wonder, when is the best time to take pictures? Before church is always crazy and the kids are still looking in their baskets, and after church is exhausting (plus the clothes are wrinkled and in our case dirty now).
Ben didn't like posing in the family picture, but he was all smiles for his solo shot!

Carter on Easter morning, he did not want to let go of his Easter basket!

Carter looks sad here, but really he was scoping out the eggs. This was taken at the town's Easter egg hunt. As soon as they said go, Carter took off and grab lots of eggs. Ben was a little more thoughtful when it came to picking up his eggs.

Easter egg hunt at the Merriman's, all of the Texas cousins - Vaughn, Dylan, Jackson, Benjamin, Carter, and Ashlee. B & C had such a great time playing with their cousins this past weekend.
As you can see from the pictures, we made a very quick trip back to Texas for Easter. Thank you to our sweet families that picked us up from the airport 3 hours late and drove us around. We miss you guys, and we enjoyed our time with you. We were so glad to get to spend time with Jackson. We got to see him walk, run, and play with the other cousins. It had been 3 1/2 months since we saw him last.
Do you let your kids eat candy? That is a very stange question, but our kids rarely eat candy. In fact, if I have any at the house, it is hidden and out of sight. I am saying this because when my kids get around candy(mainly holidays), they go crazy. Carter ate so much candy on Saturday, he made himself sick. We took his basket away from him and somehow he found more candy. It was the family joke about how much the boys love candy.
